I
have been pondering on this idea for long and have gathered thoughts I
have thunk in the process of putting up this article. We live in a
society where too much is expected of certain people in our community
and amongst those people are Pastors kids. When a pastor assumes the
role of pastorship, a lot is expected of his children. They themselves
as parents expect a whole lot more from this children than they can
actually give. Why? I still can't fully get the reason. What do their parents expect of them?
Ans:
their parents expect them to live a godly life all summed up in
righteousness So as not to put them to shame. They have become an emblem
for Good and any unruly behaviour is not required of them on any
account whatsoever but Why is it So?
What really is a godly life all summed up in righteousness?
Let's
take a scenario..... Have you been opportune to see the movie 'Let it
Shine'? If no is your answer,.Please do take a little time out to see
the movie. ......Cyrus works in a certain club, Cyrus is a pastors
child, he works in the club because of his passion for music. He is a
Good song writer and a rapper, So, in all senses available, he was not
to be seen in a "club house", Why? Because he is a pastors child.
....and here comes his father to the club house to apologise to Roxy the
little girl he pounced on in church the previous Sunday because she is
into hip-hop. And to him, a child of God is secluded from such genre of
music. It's strictly Gospel. ".....Roxy, I would like to apologise for
My behaviour in church on Sunday, My righteousness is sinful, I'm
Sorry...." he says to her and pop, here is his son and he gets to find
out he works there, in the club house and "...How could you disrespect
me like this Cyrus, do you know How this makes me look?...we will
continue this conversation in private and don't make me repeat myself"
Cyrus paid deaf ears and refused to leave with him which led him being
punished when he got home later that night.
Do you get it now?
What do they (pastors kids) want for themselves?
Ans:
they want to be like every normal kid out there, they Just want to be
themselves and not have to be Sorry for it. It's not too much to ask? is
it? Before I continue, I have to relay something. I have a friend whose
father is a Pastor in one of the churches I Am tempted to mention but
wouldn't because of the future. She is Just the exact word for 'spoilt
brat' and you wouldn't believe if I tell you What she does. And
remember, she is a pastors daughter. Some of our friends got to find out
her bad behaviour and exclaimed "....and She's a pastors
child.....hmmmm....anyway, pastors kids are the most spoiled..... OK,
didn't I say this along with them you ask? I was guilty of this at least
to an extent.
They are normal kids, forget the title their
parents portray, It's not them, they Just want to live a free life and
not go wrong and be labeled "....and He's a pastors kid, see What He's
doing". No matter What, we all are guilty of Same crimes, whether or not
our parents are pastors, Reverend Father(fada ) etc. Can't we Just give
these kids a chance to live a life free of blame at least. When they
try be themselves, we should give them a chance to, when they want to do
stuffs normal kids do, give them a chance to because the best way we
can learn is trying, making mistakes, identifying them and correcting
it. They are responsible for their lives and not you. I know a lot of
you religious people will disagree with me, know Let's take a look at
this.
"God looks at the heart and not at the appearance"
If
for instance these kids portray all righteousness but engage in devious
acts behind the eyes of the public and their "parents" I quote, How
about they live all godly life and have their heart blackened by denial
to be themselves? Would it do anyone any Good? Would it rather be better
they become a people pleaser than a God Pleaser? Remember it was said
to be wrong to Please men and anyone who pleases his fellow man is in
for a big shallow hump.
Linus Pauling (in quote) has this to say
"Satisfaction of one's curiosity is one of the greatest source of
happiness". Howbeit you join me and agree with him?
And in My own
words, "Experience is often the only difference between living a happy
or a gloomy life" You can't be responsible for the life of another, OK, I
might be wrong but we all have to responsible for our lives, no I think
I'm wrong using the word 'we all have to be' I actually Meant 'we all
are responsible for our lives' and How we live is totally upto us.
I
Am not a psychic paid to speak in their favor but What I stand for is
right. What do I stand for? You have to tour My articles because It's
evident enough to see.
In circumambient, we all deserves the
right be ourselves So in the end we could join Queen B guess you know
her and if you don't, I Meant Beyonce to sing "I was Here".
"...Cyrus...I've
been reading your song lyrics...your songs have messages of caring,
sacrifices...which are Good Christian values, So maybe I have been too
harsh summing up Rap into one box...son, I'm Sorry.
Thanks for Reading and i hope this has helped you.
